I made the base of the body out of wire (I eventually replaced the hot glue parts with epoxy because I needed more stability from the frame so I could make more precise movements during shooting.) The face is sculpted from clay on top of a ping pong…

I made the base of the body out of wire (I eventually replaced the hot glue parts with epoxy because I needed more stability from the frame so I could make more precise movements during shooting.) The face is sculpted from clay on top of a ping pong ball.

I found a pattern online for an American Girl Doll coat and then scaled down the measurements so it would fit my puppet. These are the pockets!

Then I sewed the pockets onto the front pieces of the coat. (I sewed everything by hand and it was an excruciating process.)

Then I sewed all the pieces together! Collar, sleeves, etc.

Finished product! After I finished the coat, I sewed her mittens and pants and made her shoes out of epoxy clay. I followed mostly the same process to make the transformed puppet, except I made her face and clothes out of paper mache.
